How to include the Microsoft.DirectX in .NET WPF applications? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey guys, I am having Windows 8.1 installed and Visual Studio 2013. Whenever I try to access the DirectX namespace, using

    using Microsoft.DirectX;

    ..it doesn't work for me.

    What should I do? What might be the error, since in the Add References tab it isn't shown.

  • Hello Afzaal,

    The Microsoft.DirectX.dll is not included in the .NET Framework, so that in the Add References tab it isn't shown.

    Although the managed DirectX wrappers are obsolete. You can still download it here. Replacement is XNA.

    Best Regards,

    Fred.
