How to play rtsp video in metro app ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have video links like "rtsp://uni3rtmp.tulix.tv:1935/loveworld/myStream.sdp". How I can play this video in my winrt app. I was trying with Player Framework. But Player Framework doesn't support this format.

Can any one tell me how I can play this type of videos in my window 8 apps.

  • There's a full list of supported video types for Windows Store apps here:

RTSP is the delivery mechanism, and is supported for playback in the MediaElement if the server is using the RTSP like in the Windows Media Server.  (See http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsapps/en-US/eb461c63-37ed-4f9e-a1ba-e97ea46acee2/how-can-i-play-h264-rtsp-video?forum=winappswithcsharp)

I am not sure if .sdp file type is supported, however.  I looked up the description and I am not sure if it's a codec type, in which is would definitely not be supported, or if it's a wrapper that describes the upcoming media session, in which it *might* be, but the underlying video would still need to have a supported media type.

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.
