  • Consider (re-)install your VB6 runtime, or if you have already done that, check to see if your application target x86 instead of x64.

    EDIT: Okay, checked the reference missing should be OLE DataObject, and it should be supported on x64 platform as well.

    But note that it cannot be created programmatically as it only exist during the OLE drag and drop event.

  • installed VB6 runtime. But problem did not solve still getting "Could not resolve COM reference "ea544a21-c82d-11d1-a3e4-00a0c90aea82" version 6.0. Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error.

  • Describe your situation. Is that you attempting to add this library in your reference, or you have an existing project but when you try to open it, it shows there are missing reference?

    The typelib should be registered after you've successfully installed VB6 runtime because it's found in MSVBVM60.DLL. Try to see if this file exists in your System32 folder (or if your system is 64-bit one, in the SysWOW64 folder)

    If exists, try to get it registered by running "regsvr32 MSVBVM60.dll" in that folder.

    Also, are you trying to instantiate it? As I've said before, this type is just an interface for holding drag and drop data so you cannot "new" it anyway.
