  • How to use DDKbuild with WDK 10?

I have a driver that is originally developed with WDK 7600(DDK7600/windows7)  and I want to rebuild it with WDK 1703(WDK10/Windows10) .

  • The Nmake2MsBuild is no longer provided.   You can get the WDK 8.0 and do the conversion, then upgrade to WDK 10.

Typically, for a new conversion I take a sample for the same type of driver as the build project and edit the XML of the SLN and VXPROJ files to reflect the build projects driver name, and the source files for the project.   You do need to check for the project name of the sample and replace it in multiple places, but otherwise this is pretty easy.

  • Thank you :)

But the conversion is too difficult....

How do I convert the DDK 7600 to WDK 8.0?

Can I convert using the Convert Source/Dir menu in Visual Studio? ( Ah.. This menu has disappeared.....)

  • Get the WDK8 and read the directions on how to use https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/devtest/nmake2msbuild  This takes your SOURCES based project and makes it a Visual Studio project.
