.NET 4 Setup Failed with no warning on a fresh install of Win 2008 R2 SP1 Standard (6.1.7601), x64 RRS feed

  • Question

  • On a fresh install of Windows 2008 R2 Standard, with SP1 on x64, and with all the latest Windows Updates, running dot4NetFx40_Full_Setup.exe as Administrator failed with no error message. The only installation log found under %TEMP% stops with the following:

    [12/7/2011, 10:57:25]Operation: Installing
