PHP support in Visual Studio?

    Question

  • I'm looking for a practical solution for developing PHP web apps in Visual Studio.

I had been using PHP Tools for Visual Studio but recently I have had to move all my work to a different machine because the machine I had been using crashed and died. So now I'm trying get everything working on my desktop.  I had been using PHP Tools for Visual Studio but now while looking into setting this up on a new install of Visual Studio  I'm finding that it's probably not going to work out. However I did see that there are a number of free PHP  related  extensions I can get from the Visual Studio Marketplace. Has anyone had any experience with these free extensions? All I'm really looking for is basically, code highlightin,g  intelisense, tag / bracket matching, etc..

  • Hi ronccurington

Could you please share me which version of your VS. PHP Language Supportis a free extension for PHP developing, which support Visual Studio 2013,2012,2010.

If you installed VS2015, I think we could use VS.Php for Visual Studioand PHP Tools for Visual Studio, but they are not free.

    Sincerely,

    Oscar
