Bing Maps doesn`t loaded. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Sometimes, when you run the application does not loaded map.

    Is it possible to cache or some other way to deal with this problem?

    My code:
            <map:Map Credentials="{StaticResource MapCredentials}"
                     Grid.RowSpan="3"
                     ZoomLevel="4"
                     ShowNavigationBar="False">
                <map:MapLayer>
                    <map:MapItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding Servers}">
                        <map:MapItemsControl.ItemTemplate>
                            <DataTemplate>
                                <ContentControl Template="{StaticResource BrowsePushpinDataTemplate}"
                                                helpers:MapSelectionBehavior.Location="{Binding Position, Converter={StaticResource GeoCoordinateConverter}}">
                                    <map:MapLayer.Position>
                                        <map:Location Latitude="{Binding Latitude}"
                                                      Longitude="{Binding Longitude}"/>
                                    </map:MapLayer.Position>
                                    <behaviourus:Interaction.Behaviors>
                                        <helpers:MapSelectionBehavior />
                                    </behaviourus:Interaction.Behaviors>
                                </ContentControl>
                            </DataTemplate>
                        </map:MapItemsControl.ItemTemplate>
                    </map:MapItemsControl>
                </map:MapLayer>
                <behaviourus:Interaction.Behaviors>
                    <helpers:MapZoomBehavior />
                    <helpers:MapStartLocationBehavior />
                </behaviourus:Interaction.Behaviors>

  • The reason for this is likely that the device running the app has it's home region set to an unsupported value. Not all regions are supported yet due to geopolitical issues (i.e. border and naming disputes). Until a region friendly version of the map is available these regions will be blocked. You can find a list of blocked regions here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj670541.aspx

    As mentioned by the previous person, you can set the HomeRegion of the map to US to get around this.
