Access Denied to My Organization Catalog: Task Pane App For Office RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

have created a task pane agave and successfully uploaded to sharepoint online. When I attempt to access the Office App in Excel I am getting an access denied error even after creating the trust in excel. I have confirmed I am signed in with the username that is the admin for our instance of sharepoint online. Are there additional settings that I need to create in order to get the Task Pane to show up?

I'd provide screen shots but it is telling me that my account isn't verified yet, sorry for not including at this time.

    Thanks!

  • Never mind! I triple checked the URL and this article, and realized I read it wrong:

How to: Publish task pane and content apps to an app catalog on SharePoint
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-ca/library/fp123517.aspx

/sites/appcat turned out to be the correct URL to use, not the parent /sites collection.

  • I too am getting this exact same problem.  I set up my first App Catalog in SharePoint as a new site collection (e.g. https://myaccount.sharepoint.com/sites/appcat) in my Office 365 Developer Account and uploaded the .xml manifest for a test task pane app I developed.  I then added the URL for the parent site of the app catalog (https://myaccount.sharepoint.com/sites) to the Trusted App Catalogs section in the Trust Center for Word.  Then when I browse to the MY ORGANIZATION tab in the App for Office screen in Word, it shows "Access denied to catalog".

    I'm stumped.

  • I had a same problem until I have signed in in my Office (in my actual desktop app) into the same O365 account.

and yes, there is a little mess in he article.

My app catalog set up in office is mbakirov366.sharepoint.com/sites/apps (without AgaveCatalog suffix)

  • I had to switch accounts to the Office365 account the App catalog is in, and run excel as administrator
