  • Question

  • There are many pages pf example code in the guides from msdn but how do I get them into a VB.net project.

I did this a few days ago, but there was a link explaining how to achieve it, but the ones i have found today have no such link or explanation.

    Can anyone help?

Answers

  • Copy and paste? There is typically a copy box for the code examples that enables you to copy to the Clipboard and then paste into your project.

If this isn't what you are asking for then you need to provide a page example.

  • Hi Dangerous Denham,

What type of items do you want to create in your vb.net project? Windows Application, Console Application or any other types? You could first create a Item in your project and then copy the code into your project.

Furthermore, If you want to add an exist item into your project. Follow the steps:

    1. In Solution Explorer, select the target project.
    2. On the Project menu, select Add Existing Item.
    3. In the Add Existing Item dialog box, locate an select the project item you want to link.

  • Well you select the code you want to copy using your mouse then right click and select copy or use Control + C to copy the text to your systems clipboard or if there is the word "copy" at the top of the code window at the link select that.

Then in your applications code window place the caret where you want to paste the code to and either select Control + V or right click the mouse and select Paste to paste the code into the code window from your systems clipboard.

  • Hello,

Can you provide links to explain what you are after and at least one page that works, one page that does not work in regards to what you are referring too.
