Managed Metadata Filtering in lists RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

On SharePoint 2010 (build 14.0.6117.5002) we have a couple of lists with a managed metadata column that has around 307 terms in the termset and growing...

Recently, the metadata filter on the lists stopped working properly (consistently rather). We searched for some solutions and ended up removing some terms which sadly saw the filter start working again.

The I came across THIS post:

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4961019/sharepoint-2010-taxonomy-not-filtering-correctly

So I'm thinking.. could this be true?

Is there a fix out for this?

This is terrible if it is true and I need help to help me fix it please.

    Anything?

  • Interesting, that implies that you shouldn't have more than 300 terms at any single level in the term set.

If so you might be able to work around it by subdividing. If alphanumeric then either into groups of A-Z or 0-10. If it's a more logical grouping then by using something inherent in the data.

It isn't listed as a boundary on the boundaries and limits page but that doesn't cover absolutely everything. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262787%28v=office.14%29.aspx
