ODBC USING OLE DB FOR ODBC 64 BIT SSAS, SSIS SQLSERVER RRS feed

  • Question

  • Gents,

WINDOWS 7 64 bits ULTIMATE, SQL Server 2008 R2 64 Bits, Informix SDK (OLE DB  and ODBC) 64 bit.

When I create a new DSN using the 64 BIT MS-ODBC I have no problem.  I can use the DSN in EXCEL, I can create a linked server in SQL Server.

When I get to SSIS, SSRS, SSAS everything vanish.  I just cannot get to those 64 bit tool even if I installed the SQL Server 64 bit.  In those tools (probably related to Visual Studio), I cannot even find the OLE DB for ODBC provider from Microsoft (probably the 32 bit).

Again in SSIS, SSAS, SSRS when I try to create a Data Source from Informix OLE DB, the application crash and restart.

When I create a linked server in SQL Server, If I try to use the OLE DB for ODBC that i found there I just cannot find the 64 bit DSN that I created.

I thought that I did everything in order but there seems to be a missing piece of the puzzle here.

Questions:  Since I am a fully 64 bit machine, How can I have access to the DSN I created through :

         1) SQL Server and Microsoft OLE DB for ODBC?

         2) SSIS, SSRS and SSAS for any of the 64 bit components.

    Thanks

    Francois
