$1 charged For Free 3 Month Trail SignUp

    Question

  • Hi

Today i signed Up for free trail of windows azure for 3 month. As mentioned everywhere it was free but $1 has been credited from my credit card. I want to know was it any hidden fee or there is anything else there. I am new for free trail so please help me.

Is there anything else that i should know about free trail or that can cost me more money something?

    Thanks

    Yashpal

  • My assumption is that the charge was made just to ensure that you have a valid credit card.

"A Windows Live ID and credit card are required for proof of identity. There is no obligation to purchase at the end of the free trial."

(EDIT: it may also be the case that the $1 charge is simply "processing" by your bank and will not actually post to your account)

  • As Ira Bell Said, it's card processing/verification fee.

I remember signing up for AWS (Amazon web services) once..And i had seen 1$ for card processing there too.

And with free trial you have the option of setting the spending limit. you can do that for your account and you will not be charged if you set it properly. Here's the link for more info: https://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/pricing/spending-limits
