Looking for high performance framework for DB Calls RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guy,

I am going through the Entity Framework, Dapper and ADO.net for DB calls in my new project.

My Company does not allow us to use any third party frameworks.

As per my research I see Dapper is much faster for reads and then followed by ADO.net and then entity framework.

Can any one please help me with:

    1) Is Dapper part of Microsoft Framework

    2) ADO.NET is very old technology and involves lot of boxing and unboxing due to non strongly typed. So, is it still being used these days or any alternatives.

    3) Entity framework looks like user friendly and secured.

    4) which one does good in terms of security like sql injection and insertion of special characters etc.

    5) Is there any other framework from microsoft which is these days used for data access. (for windows and web projects)

    Thank you.
