How to invoke the executables without Interactive Service Dialog in Vista OS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I have a windows service, which will invoke IE whenever the system gets restarted. The windows service working fine in all the OS, except Windows Vista. In Windows Vista I am getting "Interactive service dialog detection" popup, which is blocking to run in normal mode. I also read that, this is because of different SessionIDs for user and system. How to change the windows service's sessionID as user's sessionID and make this workable. Please help me in this regard.

    Thanks in advance!!!.

  • Hi - I think my information can help you:

    Well, I think you shall add this:
    -------------------------------------------------------------

    <trustInfo xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v2">

        <security>

          <requestedPrivileges xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v3">

            <requestedExecutionLevel level="requireAdministrator" uiAccess="false" />

          </requestedPrivileges>

          <applicationRequestMinimum>

            <PermissionSet class="System.Security.PermissionSet" version="1" Unrestricted="true" ID="Custom" SameSite="site" />

            <defaultAssemblyRequest permissionSetReference="Custom" />

          </applicationRequestMinimum>

        </security>

      </trustInfo>
    -------------------------------------------------------------

    The above code snippet should be added to: app.manifest the xml config file.
    What the above code will do, is that it will start the services in elevated way,
    and run it as administrator (with full access and permission).

    As I understand this, you want your service to execute Internet Explorer (IE) right?

    I hope the above information helps...

    Have a nice day...

    Best regards,
    Fisnik
