Brightness and Finger scaner not working

    Question

  • I recently installed developer preview and my brightness and fingerprint scanner are not working any help?

     

    Computer: HP DV7-6014tx

    Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6770M

     

    *** 64 Bit

  • I downloaded and tried the drivers but none worked. Then I thought to go into C:\Windows.old\Program Files (x86)\SwSetup\Drivers\Video (my old windows files) and copy and pasted the video folder then installed it. It worked! I can now control and change my brightness. :D

    Have you tried downloading drivers and software for brightness and fingerprint scanner from HP website?  If not, here is link below.

    Select Windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit depends on which Windows Developer Preview you have installed.

    You might have to run installer using Compatibility mode.  Here are steps if you need them.

    1. Right click on setup file
    2. Click on Properties
    3. Click on Compatibility tab
    4. Put a check mark on Run this program in compatibility mode for:
    5. Select Windows 7
    6. Put a check mark on Run this program as an administrator under Privilege Level

  • Is that the right link? It shows drivers for a HP Pavilion dv7-1014tx not a 6014tx model?
