Convert data from ms access 2013 to dbase IV RRS feed

  • Question

  • In the version off MsAccess 2010 an export to Dbase IV of FoxPro was possible. In the version access 2013 it is no more possible.

Can you tell me how I can convert data from access 2013 to dbase? To buy extra software; which?

    Thanks

  • Dbase IV and FoxPro are veery old formats. Access .accdb has moved on a lot to the point where you can't copy an Access db and all its data into them without getting the scalpel out. That means a fair bit of development work to write the wizard etc. Given that those databases aren't supported any longer(true?) support for them has dropped since there obviously wasn't the demand.

Microsoft always tries to invest developer hours in features they think will be most popular.

Try searching the web for 3rd party conversion tools. Otherwise, export to Access 2003 .mdb format then use Access 2003 to export to the format you want.

If people still want to use very old software they need to keep interim versions of software for compatibility with new versions. Its just one of the costs of not upgrading!
