mht file not opening in MSPS 2010

Question

Hi,

We are migrating frm MSPS 2007 to MSPS 2010. We have a few mht files which are opening in MSPS 2007. These mht files are stored in a sub site. A link is provided to these mht files using Quick Launch. In 2007 version they open in the browser. However, in 2010 version I get a message "Do you want to save this file?" with Save and Cancel options. The mht files do not open automatically.

Hi,

there is a setting in central administration that avoid to open those files. You need to configure the browser file handling there. By default SharePoint 2010 is configure to for a download which is called "browser file handling stict mode".

He had the problem with pdf but it is the same behaviour with mht file.
