NuGet XAMARIN package reference error??

    Question

  • I can't get past this compile error.  I have even manually downloaded the package to the solution package directory and it still does not see the Xamarin package.    I have done all the FAQ suggestions about turning on the auto update feature, but that does not seem to help.

So restore does not download it as advertised.  I have the right file in the right directory,

Severity Code Description Project File Line Suppression State
Error  This project references NuGet package(s) that are missing on this computer. Enable NuGet Package Restore to download them.  For more information, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=322105. The missing file is ..\..\Packages\Xamarin.Forms.1.4.4.6392\build\portable-win+net45+wp80+win81+wpa81+MonoAndroid10+MonoTouch10+Xamarin.iOS10\Xamarin.Forms.targets. HyperTime.Core C:\Users\User\Documents\Visual Studio 2015\Projects\HyperTime\master\HyperTime.Core\HyperTime.Core.csproj 79

  • Hi Lalessi,

What project type do you use and which version of Visual Studio 2015 you are using?

As far as I know, the Xamarin package is needed when we create cross platform app, such as Android, iPhone, which is not installed from NuGet packages manager. And it would not have reference packages in project references.

Please download the Xamarin package from below official site and then create a new default Android or iPhone app from your Visual Studio 2015. Now build your app to check whether the error still exist.

    https://www.xamarin.com/download

If problem still exist, please check your Visual Studio 2015, please confirm it has installed the latest update. If not, please get it and install from below link.

    https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/news/releasenotes/vs2015-update3-vs

Then please try repair your Visual Studio to check whether there has any installation problem on your Visual Studio installation.

    Best Regards,
