can't extend C:/ as it is disabled

    Question

  • I want to extend drive C, but the extend option is disabled.

drive c has a copy of win8 (i'm running win7 on another drive), filesys NTFS, page file, primary.

What do i do? the empty partition is cut out from drive d (win7). is it because my current os is on C:/?

sorry if this is in the wrong forum... can anyone direct me to a better one?

  • Using the built-in tools in an Extend operation, you are only able to Extend a partition using contiguous, unallocated space that appears in Disk Management immediately to its right, otherwise the option is greyed out as you have discovered.

There are a number of free partition managers, try Google.
