Merging multiple DLLs into one (for creating an sdk/api) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am working on creating an sdk/api using .NET and Windows Store APIs. I would like to be able to combine multiple projects into one DLL.

My Visual Studio solution contains multiple projects (some targeted towards portable class libraries and one towards windows store apis). Visual Studio will not combine all these projects into one dll when building the solution.

I understand this is possible with ilmerge however ilmerge only works with pure .net assemblies. Is it possible to generate one dll that combines all projects, xaml resources and and windows store components?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  • No, you cannot merge these into a single DLL.

Take a look at Distribution by extension SDK for information on how to bundle multiple assemblies and resources together for distribution as an SDK.
