  • Question

  • I am getting the "Unable to start debugging. The Silverlight developer runtime is not installed. When I attempt to install the Silverlight 5 Developer Runtime I am told it is already installed.  Any thoughts? Thanks

  • This question has been asked many, many times. Please search the forums before asking the same question.

  • Don't worry about how many times a question has been asked Justin. I am a customer - a customer of Microsoft for probably many more years than you have worked for them.A longtime customer/developer like me does not appreciate your tone.  For your information, I did search the forum and I did not find this question being asked about the VS 2013 / Silverlight 5 platform.

If you were not concentrating so much on finding fault with your customer then perhaps these kinds of things would not appear in multiple releases.

I hope Beth gets wind of this thread buddy.

  • I hope then that Beth also gets wind of how incredibly helpful Justin has been to the LightSwitch community since Beta, and how many of us could NEVER have developed our current LS apps without his guidance and solutions!

  • Hi Doyle,

You may try uninstall Silverlight and reinstall Silverlight. And you may try downloading Security Update for Microsoft Silverlight (KB2890788) : http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40633

Please let me know if it helps.
