  • The perf counter name can be seen by using Perfmon and basically is the name you already gave. The particular one you mentioned is an instanced counter so you need to either specify you want all instances or a specific instance.

    I'm not sure what you mean by using the COM interface but accessing perf counters can be done directly in Win32 using PDH. MSDN has documentation on the format of a counter name that you need to follow. You'll pass that to the PdhAddCounter to get a handle that you can use to work with the counter.
