Script for replacing mysites with customized SPSites RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, colleagues!
Could you take a look at my problem: there is a need in Sharepoint 2010 MySites customization, i.e. we have few .wsp templates which should be applied to mysites, depending on users group (like tutors, students etc.). As a .wsp template has a lot of pre-configured lists and libraries included with content, the approach from Steve Peschka for MOSS 2007 (with feature Stapling) is not acceptable, thus, I was thinking of creating regular SPSites using my wsp templates by a powershell script, and replacing the “mysite” link in users profiles with the link to those customized SPSites.
Could you provide any help generally on this idea and if possible any examples of script? Im stuck since the beginning, at the stage of creating site with “New-SPSite -Template $SiteTemplate” as my customized .wsp template is not on “Get-SPWebTemplate” list.
    Thanks!
