  • Hi All,

I am using Exchange Web Services 2.0.  I want to be able to create a meeting in a room.  The availability of the room is of my only concern.

At the moment creating the meeting is fine, I just want to know if there is a way for me to not create the meeting if the room is not available?  Can I get Exchange to reject the meeting request?  Or do I have to check the availability myself.

For now I am checking the availability...  I have been doing this two ways

    1. I use GetUserAvailability with the room as an required attendee, though when I do this I have to set a large time interval...

    2. I get the calender items of the rooms.

Is there a way to just say, are you free between these two times?

  • Meeting Rooms will reject Meeting requests if you have autoaccept enabled and you set -AllowConflict $false http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335046(v=exchg.141).aspx

If you want to check availability GetUserAvailability is the best method to use and is how its done in Outlook and OWA to show availability of resources (and in 2010,2013 suggestions etc). If your having a problems using it you might want to explain more what your problem is.

    Cheers
