My app crashes before launch when remote debugging on ARM

    Question

  • I'm trying to remote debug a game app on a Surface RT tablet. This worked for me a few weeks ago but now the app doesn't even launch. The splash screen appears for a few seconds and then the app closes. It doesn't even hit a breakpoint in App.xaml.cpp. Has anyone experienced this? Where should I begin?

Answers

  • Yes.  You have to have one on the device.

    - make sure you are logged into your msn account on the device.

    - package your app on the pc and add the folder to your device

    - run the Add-AppDevPackage script (should be .ps1 file) in powershell command

    - it should then walk you through the license set up

  • I actually did this last night on my RT.  Do you have the developer license on the device?  It might have expired?

  • I have one on my dev machine. Do I need to get one on the remote device as well? How do I do that?
