  • Question

  • Hello Microsoft CS,

Can you confirm this for me as is reported bellow by AccuWeather.com, I recommend to read the entire text to understand the issue with Location that should be Vila das Lajes or just Lajes and annoyily shows as Lagens even on Mobile plataforms.

    Kind Regards,

    João Silva

    Hello Customer Service,

The location Lagens as you sugest for, http://www.accuweather.com/en/pt/lagens/271982/daily-weather-forecast/271982, does not exist, and it can take by mistake outsiders that are looking for it, I sugest the real name, Vila das Lajes or just Lajes, it is strange that still like this for many years, also don't forget to correct it for iOS and AndroidOS.

    Kind Regards,
    João Silva

  • Since AccuWeather is a licensed Bing Maps customer, you should contact the Bing Maps Enterprise support team as you have access to them. You can find there contact details here: https://www.microsoft.com/maps/support.aspx

That said, I look into this issue and "Lagens" is not displayed on any of the Bing Maps imagery. Bing Maps displays "Lajes". If you geocode "Lagens" Bing Maps does return results, but the returned results are for "Lajes". The "Lagens" name doesn't appear to be in the Bing Maps data set anywhere other than being corrected to be "Lajes". I don't see any issue on the Bing Maps side of things here. I suspect that the issue is with the auto complete data that is in the AccuWeather website which doesn't appear to be coming from Bing Maps.
