What is the symbolic constant for alphabet(A-Z & a-z) in keypad RRS feed

  • Hi.,

              I need Symbolic Constant For Alphabet(A-Z & a-z) in Keypad ....For numerals symbolic constant (VK_NUMPAD0-VK_NUMPAD9) is there(keypad /keyboard)... Now  i am mapping the key with the help of  PFN_KEYBD_EVENT(when event occurs)...Numerals is working in my keypad ...But Alphabets is not working...

  • Take a look at the header file where VK_NUMPAD0 is defined, which is winuser.h, where you find documented the virutal scan codes for alpha.  But it is a little confusing becuase from your keypad it isn't as simple.

    If I recall correctly (it has been a long time since I wrote a similar driver) but as you will notice on your English keyboad (not your keypad) there are only capital letters.  Of course they are actually mislabeled and should be marked with the lower case letters.

    To use capital letters, you first press some other key like RSHIFT, LSHIFT or CAPS LOCK.

    Similarly, your driver will need to send the shift keys, whether or not the use actually pressed them, then the alpha key.
