Unable to install Windows Hardware Certification Kit (HCK) HCKSetup.exe on Windows server 2008 R2 - Help RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I'm trying to install the HCKSetup.exe on Winows server 2008 R2, and error got popped up.

    An Error occurred while installing "Windows Hardware Certification Kit"

    Error Information: Fatal Error during installation.

    And in the logs :

  • Uninstall WHCK, then clean up all tmp folders, WHCK creates a test account , be care to delete associated folders, reboot.

    Be care of having latetst version.

    Install it

    thanks for the reply.

    I have done clean-up everything from the temp folder and associated folders. And I have done the windows update once before rebooting of my server.

    Still the same problem repeating.

  • I believe I have the same problem. Further into the log it logs an error that indicates it can not connect to a (SQLServer I believe) server. Below is the error. I'm unable to ping fmnmxdev709.na.micron.com. So I would assume I need to change that but do not have a clue how to fix that.
