Errors while referencing System.Mangement.dll , Please Help. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am developing a windows store app which accesses the windows powershell. I have tried it before for windows standalone application (that too, only if it runs as administrator), but I am facing some problems in developing the app.

I had to reference System.Mangement.dll , but during compilation I get the following error.

The base class or interface 'System.ComponentModel.Component' in assembly 'System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' referenced by type 'System.Management.ManagementObjectSearcher' could not be resolved

    Could someone please help me.

  • Windows Store apps are self-contained and cannot make system wide  changes. They cannot call PowerShell. Local system administration tasks are the realm of desktop apps.

See .NET for Windows Store apps overview for more info on using .Net in Windows Store apps.
