IIS custom error 404 problem RRS feed

    We runing the same aplication(ASP .NET) on different webservers, and one of our server is faild to show the custom 404 error page (default IIS error page apper). Costum 404 error page can be opened via URL, and in the list of custom errors.

    Check the IIS logs, and make sure you clear the browser cache in case it was cached on the client side.  Restart IIS, check permissions on your custom 404 page, check other custom error pages on the same server.

    Thx the tips, but logs are ok nothing strange. Browser cache is cleared. IIS restarted many times. I will try other custom error page.

    I don't understand what your problem is. Can you try to explain it again? If you get a 404 and don't know why: can you have a look into the log files and find out if the 404 has a sub-status code. Can you post the sub-status code?

    Sorry, my bad english ;) So I want handle the 404 error with own 404 error page. It work fine in some server, but one is by-pass the custom 404 error page and show the IIS default 404 error page.

    In asp.net you need to set the <customErrors> section.  Make sure this is set in the web.config.

    if you take look to the pictrue you can see, the web.config is correct, the custom error page is apper on the list.

    I don't see the picture, but the custom errors in IIS are for non ASP.NET based pages.  You need to declare the 404 error code in your web.config.
