Open and save macro without any change the error gone. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have a file template .dot and containing vba macros.

The file doesn't open on some machine (word 2010 and windows 7), it gives a word crashes and not responding.

I open the file and go to macro and I simply add a comment and then save. The error is gone.

What is the source of the error and why is it gone although no code change is made?

    Thanks.

Answers

  • Export the macros and then recreate the template as a dotm format.  Finally import the macros into the new formatted template.

  • Just a guess but maybe it has something to do with you having the template in the "dot" format and not the "dotm" format??
