Cannot generate sspi context RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm connecting to a remote sql server (2008) from windows authentication. After change the date time in local machine(not in connecting server) and when trying to connect to the sql server using windows authentication error comes "cannot generate sspi context". Then I changed the server machine date time to the local date time. The error came as before. Is it not possible to connect using windows authentication when date time changed.

    Hello,

Yes, the time on the server and on the clients must match exactly. As soon as it differ more then 5 minutes, the clients are treaten as "untrusted" and SQL Server refuses connection with Windows authentification.
