EWF and crash damp RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello.

Could you help me with next question:

I have a system with next configuration:

    1) Windows embedded 7 + SDD with 3 parts like (C:, D:, E:)

    2) C: is a system part with enabled EWF + HORM.

    3) D:, E: - without EWF

How can I config system to create Crash Dump (kernel crash damp)?

  • The first answer: A pagefile is needed on the C drive for crash dump file to be created. Since EWF is protecting drive C and there is no pagefile, there is no way to create a crash dump.

The question has been asked before: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1c21ec21-8759-49fb-96f6-9571272450f4/ewf-relocated-pagefile-and-memory-dumps?forum=embeddedwindowseefs

second answer is to move the page file:

  • Hello everyone.

I would like to add some dеtails:

    1) When I have had error from previous post I can not see any dump files.

    2) So, where do Os save information about error? Maybe It gets from a pagefile. But when I remove the pagefile an error still stays.

    3) Does Somebody have any guideline how to configure a crashdump in Windows Embedded 7?
