10.1 Inaccurate Metadata - App Title RRS feed

  • Question

  • I got an issue from the app cert team for my app title not accuratly representing my app. See message below.

    Notes To Developer

The app title does not accurately represent the app. Titles must prominently distinguish informational apps such as guides and tutorials from functional apps. For more information see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=615230.

App Title: Windows 10 Dev Icons

    App Description:

This app is intended for developers see the available 'Segoe MDL2 Assets' icons. You can browse the icons, search for icons by keyword, and view icon details to quickly copy the info you need to keep on coding!

Should I just need to change it to 'Windows 10 Development Icons'? Or 'Windows 10 Dev Icon Search'? I can't imagine all apps that are informational would have to have something like 'search' or 'info' in their app title...

  • Hey,

Did you resolve this? I got received a result similar to yours. It provides no explanation on what is wrong with the app name or icon. I emailed MS support about it but the support representative said they do not handle the certification process. This is odds since I submitted the support ticket under app submission and certification with sub category app certification results. I am awaiting an email from MS support on who to contact for more help.

    Notes To Developer

The app name and/or icon does not accurately represent the app.
