Outlook 2010 - ItemSend event does not fire unless VBA code is displayed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've written a VBA code in the object ThisOutlookSession's Application_ItemSend event to add my email address to the BCC list for all emails sent.  I saved my code and all day long I received copies of the emails I sent.

If Outlook is shut down and restarted, I no longer receive copies of emails I send. Once I go to the Developer tab and view the VBA code; I start receiving copies of the emails again.

I initially thought it had to do with macro security and ect. but it does not.  It doesn't matter whether macros have been enable/disabled.  As long as I've viewed the VBA code the event gets fired.

How to I make sure the event is firing without having to view the code?

  • Hi AScott03,

I would recommend you tell me your Outlook version for further research.

  • I am also having a similar issue. Except once I restarted, I no longer get receive copies of my emails, even if the code is displayed.
