  • I'm having similar issues. Crashes frequently. Using Windows developer preview x64.

  • I do not have problems with it crashing...BUT...every so often it does hang with a green screen. The only way out is to terminate it using Task Manager. This is respect to the Metro version of IE 10. The desktop version seems to be fine.

I am finding I like the Metro version. Nice to have full screen viewing.

  • You can have fullscreen viewing even in the desktop one. Just press F11.

/ it's there for several years by the way /

On Metro Start screen just type in CMD and press CTRL + SHIFT + Enter to elevate the command. Then type in SFC /SCANNOW

Hi, if SFC doesn't work, try using Autoruns from Sysinternals: http://technet.microsoft.com/es-co/sysinternals/bb963902

Extract the content, run Autoruns.exe, go to Options menu, select Hide Microsoft and Windows Entries, refresh (f5), go to Explorer tab and uncheck all entries you see, restart your system and check if you get the crash.

  • Thank all of you, I tried the Autoruns.exe and I still get crashes. I am going to try the sfc in a little bit.

I just want o make sure we are talking about Explorer, not Iexplorer. This is the file manager not the internet explorer

  • Hi,

please download this reg file from my SkyDrive:

    http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/WER%5E_Explorer.reg

and make a double click on the file to import it. If you can't do this, run regedit.exe and import the registry file there!

When the Windows Explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service [1] creates a dmp file under C:\Localdumps. Please upload the file to your public Skydrive [2] folder and post the link here. I take a look at the dump with the Debugger, maybe I can see the cause.
