how to become an architect RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear all,

Actually I am a programmer and an entrepreneur for more than 25 years now and in all my past experience I add to deal in solving so many different things in terms of design and architecture in order to cover customer needs.

I have a dilemma question on the architect role in term of software and others. My feeling is that first of all there are different time of architects : IT architect and Software architect and they need to work and communicate together because an IT architect does not necessary have all the vision of a software architect and reverse.

I have the feeling that they are no school for being an architect, instead architect is based on all experience collected with the time in our daily work.

what is your feeling in this ?

is there some good link who could help define architect work and what to learn more to consolidate expertise ?

  • I really don't know how architects around us learnt this role

And in fact there are so many variety of skills of architects, I cannot easily answer the career path of an architect

Most have this in the title, most miss this in their title but doing the architecture of the solutions they build

I believe to build the right architecture, a deep and hands-on experience is required to understand first the requirement and the tools to solve this requirement. Then an appropriate solution can be built based on this knowledge and experience.
