How to use the GPIO method to realize the Win8 tablet Home Button RRS feed

  • Question

  • We want to use a capacitive touch control  chip as the Win8 Homekey touch control chip, but the chip doesn't support IIC.
Can we just only use the GPIO to realize the Win8 Homekey application?
According to the material named hardware-buttons-for-windows-8-tablets,there are two available architectures:Traditional architecture and the System on a Chip(SOC)-based architecture.
We want to use the System on a Chip(SOC)-based architecture which includes GPIO supporty.
In the material there are very few infomations about the GPIO-based Button Reporting, and we can't find out how to inform the system using the GPIO method.

    WHAT IS THE GPIO METHOD?

HOW CAN WE USE THE GPIO METHOD TO MAKE THE CHIP REGISTED AND COMMUNICATE WITH THE SYSTERM?
