Biztalk ACK Generation (BTS2016)

    Question

  • I have an 837 Claim file with 5000 claims in it, if I generate the 999 I get 5000 999 generated? Does BizTalk generate one 999 per claim? How can I assemble all of it and just send the sender 1 ACK for his file submitted? I want to avoid orchestration

    Thanks

  • The 999 follows X12 rules do the single/multiple BizTalk Schema makes no difference.

You will get 1 999 per GS...GE in the received Interchange.  If you are getting 5000 999's that means the sender is sending 5000 Functional Groups which is technically allowed but not recommended in batch scenarios.

Make sure "Do not batch 997" is not checked in the Agreement.

To be clear, BizTalk Server is generating the correct 999s based on X12 rules.

  • Have you tried?  Are you having a specific problem?

You can easily find this answer yourself once you setup your 837 receive process.

  • Yes, sir, I flowed a file and observed the result, tried with both single and multiple schemas no luck, Biztalk dumps (n) 999 one for each claim in the file.

    Thanks

  • The only gotcha now is I see a 0kb file created post-parsing of my claim file

    TIA
