TCPClient is only working on my computer... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I'm making a simple chat app in windows-forms and I need my client (user) to connect to the server (me) with the port 8882.

    When I am doing this, 192.168.0.2 is my local ip adress, and I am launching the client and the server on the same computer. (It is working fine (the same with 127.0.0.1))

    Try
                TCPClientz.Connect("192.168.0.2", 8882)
                TCPClientStream = TCPClientz.GetStream()
                MsgBox("Connected")
                sendDefault()
            Catch x As Exception
            End Try

    Again with the same code, I am trying to connect the client (other computer on my network) to the server  (me, (same network again)) but it is not working.

    The ports on my router are open :

    If anyone have an idea, thank by advance, y0ga :]

  • The router shouldn't have anything to do with packet transport on the local network.  Check the firewall software running on each computer and ensure it is allowing outbound connections on the client and inbound connection on the server for the specified port.
