Problem with DB Mirror RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a DB mirroring session (with no witness).

But when I look at the Database Mirroring Monitor it says under 'Mirroring State' that the principal is Synchronized, but for the mirror it says 'Waiting for Data...' and then syas Not connected to xxxxxxxxx    (xxxxxxxx is the Server name of the Mirror)

What does this mean? Is the Mirror not working?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

SYNCHRONIZED indicates the mirror database contains the same data as the principal database and becomes sufficiently caught up to the principal server.

When Database Mirroring Monitor connecting to the mirrored server, it displays Waiting for data. If the Database Mirroring Monitor cannot connect to the mirrored server, please check the credentials used to register the mirrored database.

  • What is the status of your mirrored database ? What does come up in brackets close to the database name in mirrored instance ?
I would think the mirroring is not working and disconnected in your case .
    Thanks, Leks
