Using Devcon to disable 1 of 4 identical devices. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All.

I have several devices connected VIA USB with the same VID\PID that i want to keep only 1 connected at a time.

when using Devcon with only 2 devices connected i can disable them both and i am searching for a way to disable only one.

Adding a little snipet, it looks like Devcon can be this specific.

    c:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Tools\x64>devcon.exe disable HID\VID_15A2"&"PID_0071
    HID\VID_15A2&PID_0071\6&BB32320&0&0000                      : Disabled
    HID\VID_15A2&PID_0071\6&1E6CD3C5&0&0000                     : Disabled
    2 device(s) disabled.

    c:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Tools\x64>devcon.exe enable HID\VID_15A2"&"PID_0071
    HID\VID_15A2&PID_0071\6&BB32320&0&0000                      : Enabled
    HID\VID_15A2&PID_0071\6&1E6CD3C5&0&0000                     : Enabled
    2 device(s) are enabled.

    c:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Tools\x64>devcon.exe disable HID\VID_15A2"&"PID_0071\6"&"BB32320"&"0"&"0000

  • Use the complete device instance ID:

    devcon disable @HID\VID_15A2"&"PID_0071\6"&"1E6CD3C5"&"0"&"0000
