  • Hello, I am using the Kinect v2 Unity plugin and i want to scale the Kinect Joints to the proportions of my avatar model in unity. Currently i have centred the Kinect joint data at my characters hips. However the distance between the shoulders does not match my model. I want to know the best method for scaling or offsetting joints so that they align with my models and still work accurately with Kinect joint movements.

  • I don't know that you would do that since the bone hierarchy system of the model should take care of that. The main joint you will want is the SpineBase so you can choose location. You will set the rotation of each of the bone rotations based on the jointOrientation from Kinect. Keep in mind this is in camera space and may not work with your model. You may need to covert to euler angles to make the math work.
