URGENT : Project Server Workflow RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm having this problem with creating a project server workflow. This client is implementing the demand management module and wants his first two PDP's to be approved by 3 different people(one after the other) before moving to the next stage. I need to know if this is possible in project server 2010. I have created this kind of workflows in SharePoint 2010 using SharePoint designer. I need to know if the demand management module in project server allows this type of multi-person approvals before moving on to the next stage in the demand management cycle. Kindly advice on how I can achieve this.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Bami,

Another kind of solution you can use is the Dynamic Workflow. You don´t have to program anything, it´s already done, and also you can set a group of people to approve Stages.

  • It's possible, but unless you have a 3rd party tool, you'll have to do your workflow development in Visual Studio.  If you can code it up in VS, Project Server 2010 can do it.

That being said, the UMT Project Essentials and Nintex Project Server workflow tools could both handle that with a more user friendly GUI.

  • Thanks Andrew. Any ideas on how I can achieve this using Visual Studio? Is there like a technet link or set of steps I might find helpful?

I would really appreciate a reply to this.

    Regards.
