Previews & Video RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

In EM1, if "generate preview" is selected then videos will only have a thumbnail and not play within the media pane.

I didn't get a chance to check this during the EM2 trial, so I'm asking whether this behavior has been improved in EM2.

For photos, showing the preview makes sense. For video, it'd be great to only show the preview if the video file is unavailable.

Or, for both, have an option to bypass the preview and force a render of the original media.

Has the behavior changed in EM2?

  • Hi J.

Actually, this is only true in Expression Media 1 if you have checked "Display Previews at all times." If you build previews but don't have that checked, they play fine as long as the media file is available. The same thing is true of Expression Media 2. To play movies and have your previews, too, uncheck "Display Previews at all times."

    Hope this helps,
