Multiple Content Types and InfoPath RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

I have multiple content types associated with a list (custom list) and would like to create an InfoPath form for each.  From the browser, when I click the ribbon button to edit the for in InfoPath, all I can modify is the first (default) content type form.  How can I edit the other forms associated with the other content types?

    Thank you,

    Bob

  • Hi Bob,

We can custom it in InfoPath this way:

Open InfoPath Designer > New > Click SharePoint List under Popular Form Templates > Design Form > Give your site URL > Select your existing list > Next > Select the content type you want to customize it > Next > Finish.

And you can also use ASP custom list forms for different content types this way:

Open the site in SharePoint Designer > Lists & Libraries > Click to open you list/library > Under Content Types section > Click one of your content type > Then we are in the next page, under Forms section, we can give New, Eidt and Display Form URL (here we need to use relative path).
So you can create put custom list forms created from different content types in different pages, and give New/Edit/Display Form URL for each content type follow above steps.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Emir

  • Hi Emir,

Thank you; creating a new form using InfoPath worked, using the approach described above.

Once I have published the form, how do I get back to it in InfoPath?  Each time I attempt to edit the form in InfoPath, I am presented with the default form.  I want to pick another form to edit?

    Thank you again...

    Bob
