  • Can a mirrored server be accessed for read only reporting?  Is it recommended?

  • You cannot access a mirrored database at all as it is in a restoring state

  • I believe a better answer would be that, No the database itself cannot be accessed but many times the mirror database is utilized for reporting by creating a snapshot of the database and reporting from the snapshot.  Link here -> http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms175511.aspx

  • No it cannot  but as Randall  pointed out  you can create a snapshot database of mirrored database and run queries againts it

  • no u cannot use DB mirroring for reporting purpose...y dnt u opt Log shipping??
