  • Hi Srinivas,

According to your description, you need to connect to MDS outside the domain, right?

Based on my research, generally we cannot connect to MDS using the Master Data Services Add-in For Microsoft Excel, with an account outside the domain (Workgroup not trusted domain). If it is enabled 'Anonymous Authentication' in IIS, it allows all users to access MDS, so everybody can do modification with no authentication and there are no error message (but the connection is not secure) in Excel connection. Please refer to the link below to see the details.

You can.  You just need to connect to MDS using Internet Explorer first, and when you type in your credentials, select "Save Credentials" on the dialog.  This stores the credentials in the Windows Credential Manager.  Then when the Excel Add-In connects it will use the stored credentials.
