Saving a local store on Windows mobile OS from getting deleted RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are developing an mobile based .net application which has to store some sensitive information on mobile itself for offline purpose.I need to know whether there is any mechanism in Windows mobile OS by which a specific datastore/directory can be hidden and can only be opened by a particular authenticated user.

  • Assuming this is going to be based on the same as a windows desktop system, would you have isolated storage available to you, to write to?

  • Hi Martin,

We are using Windows Mobile 6.1 based HTC smartphone. The data to be protected resides on its standard memory while the application itself runs on external storage card.

Can some trick can be applied to achieve the desired in  this?
One thing which i am thinking of is putting the data in a password protected zip files and read from there but that too is prone to denial of service attack as anybody can see and delete it.
