x64 Server 2008 wim on x64 server 2008 system PARAMETER COUNT MISMATCH when trying to create catalogue file RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

When trying to use Windows system installation manager on an x64 server 2008 R2 Enterprise server, I select the x64 server 2008 R2 Enterprise WIM (this install.wim is from the same disk that I installed the server OS from),  I go file>Select Windows Image> I select the install.wim from the x64 server 2008 R2 Enterprise Disk (I have copied this to a temp folder on C Drive),   I get a prompt to select an image, I choose Windows Server 2008 RD SERVERENTERPRISE, I get prompted to create a catalog file, but then get the error:

Windows System image manager execution failed.

    Details:  Parameter count mismatch.

    Log File:

5:11 AM : Windows System Image Manager execution failed.
    5:11 AM :
    5:11 AM : System.Reflection.TargetParameterCountException: Parameter count mismatch.

I have read through all the other threads that I could find and cannot find a solution for this issue when I'm using x64 Server 2008 wim on x64 server 2008 system.

I have fully updated .net framework and have run all available windows updates.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Much,
